Hoorey-, this is the first formal post on this blog and yup, I decided to do a Newtype Issue for a start. Anyway, with this blog, I’ll try to do an overview on this magazine every month if I can. In this issue, we’ll take a look at the announcement of 涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱2期 (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 2) and the up coming Gundam series called “00″ or “機動戦士ガンダム00” in full along with many other shows and some random stuffs.

My first impression on the new Gundam is that, it’s a bit too manly and weird.

As you can see, all of the main characters shown are male (what about female?), some of them look close to being female but that’s it and it’s suck. The black hair guy in the first pic named Setsuna F. Seiei, a Kurd from Middle East (both weird and girly, I know), 16 years old. And on the second pic, from top to bottom, Lockon Stratos (24), Allelujah Haptism (19) and Tieria Erde (unknown age). All the Gundam seem to be normal compared to the previous series, the main one (GN-001 Gundam Exia) is blue (and overpowered, I think) and they all have fancy names as usual. Apparently, there will be 3 or 4 sides in this one and not all of them will be using gundam which is a good news since it makes this gundam series different from others. On other notes, apart from wierd names and genders, the background story is quite interesting and staffs of this series are good. The director is Seji Mizushima, who directed the well-known series Fullmetal Alchemist and some others not so good series. The writer is Yo-suke Kuroda, who is famous for so many works such as Bottle Fairy, Excel Saga, Honey and Clover 1&2, Madlax and so on. Anyway, the series will air on Saturday, 6 October 2007, at 6 pm and will be running for 25 episodes before taking a break like Sunrise’s other great anime Code Geass. I will definitely check this series out, hoping that it doesn’t suck like GSD.

Next, Haruhi 2 Is Confirmed!!!

Second season is announced and confirmed by many sources. The series is expected to air in april/may 2008 like the previous one and also, according to Kyoto Animation’s schedule, they are currently having Lucky Star and Clannad next to do so, this expected date is very fit.

Haruhi game is also confirmed and will be cross-platform on PS2, PSP and Wii. Apparently, the gameplay appears to be a mix between ADV and RPG.

I am more forward looking to Clamp In Wonderland 2 than the new Tsubasa. I hate the old Tsubasa anime a lot. It ruined the manga imo. Nevertheless, the new Tsubasa looks indeed better with actual BLOOD this time (hopefully) and by Production I.G.
